Dick Bailey Service, Inc. (“Dick Bailey,” “we,” “our,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use dickbailey.com (the “Site”) or contact us for an estimate.
1) What we collect
Information you provide: name, email, phone, firm name, court details (e.g., case/index numbers), uploaded files, and any notes you include when requesting an estimate or contacting us.
Usage data: IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, and similar technical data via analytics.
Cookies & similar tech: small files to remember preferences and analyze Site use (see “Cookies & Tracking” below).
If you choose not to provide requested information, we may be unable to prepare an estimate or respond fully.
2) How we use information
We use information to:
Review matters and prepare estimates (non-binding until confirmed in writing).
Communicate about requests, timelines, and status updates.
Operate, secure, and improve the Site (including analytics, debugging, and preventing abuse).
Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect rights, safety, and property.
We do not sell your personal information.
3) Who we share it with
We share limited data with trusted service providers who help us run our business. They are bound by confidentiality and data-protection commitments and may only use data as instructed by us. These may include:
Google Analytics (site measurement)
Monday.com (project/work management; status tracking and communications)
Website hosting, email, form processing, and security vendors
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, during a merger/acquisition, or with your consent.
4) Cookies & tracking (including “Do Not Track”)
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, performance/analytics, and remembering preferences.
You can control cookies in your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect Site functionality.
We honor applicable consent banners where required.
Most browsers offer a Do Not Track (DNT) setting. Industry standards for responding to DNT are evolving, so our Site may not respond to DNT signals. You can still manage cookies as above and/or use available opt-out tools.
Analytics opt-outs: You can use browser add-ons to limit analytics tracking (e.g., opt-out extensions) and advertising preference tools provided by major platforms.
5) Legal bases & regional frameworks
We aim to meet the spirit and requirements of major privacy frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and CalOPPA, to the extent they apply.
If you’re in the EEA/UK (GDPR):
Our legal bases may include consent (e.g., cookies), performance of a contract (estimates/services), legitimate interests (security, improvement, analytics proportionate to impact), and legal obligations (records, compliance).
If you’re in California (CCPA/CPRA):
We do not sell or share (for cross-context behavioral advertising) personal information.
You have rights to know/access, correct, delete, and limit use of sensitive information (we do not seek to collect sensitive categories).
Submit requests via appeals@dickbailey.com and include “CCPA Request” in the subject.
6) Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access a copy of your personal data.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Delete your data (subject to legal/operational retention needs).
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Portability (receive data in a portable format).
Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent).
To exercise these rights, email appeals@dickbailey.com. We may need to verify your identity. We’ll respond within the timeframes required by law.
7) Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above—e.g., to prepare estimates, manage communications, meet legal requirements, resolve disputes, and maintain security. Retention periods differ by record type and legal obligations.
8) Data security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect data against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access.
9) International transfers
Our vendors and systems may store or process information outside your state or country (including across U.S. regions). Where applicable, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers consistent with law and industry practice.
10) Children’s privacy
Our Site and services are intended for adult legal professionals and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact appeals@dickbailey.com and we’ll delete it.
11) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the revised version with an updated “Last Updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted for a reasonable period. Contact Us
